How zones work ?

Agnes, 12 December, 2018

A zone is the area you specify on the map. Within this area, the location of the child is monitored. This is called GEOFENCING – means the determination of a virtual border within the monitored area. Depending on your zone settings, you can receive information about entry / exit from the zone, as well as, for example, no appearance in the zone.

When designating a zone, you also provide a time rule when it should apply. You can set an alert, for example, on days of the week from Monday to Friday which will inform you about not showing up in the school zone at scheduled times. 7.30 – 8.00. If the child does not appear in the designated zone – you will get an alert. This rule will not apply on Saturday and Sunday.

Types of zones:

  • Exit from the zone: You will receive an alert when the device leaves the zone (on a specified day, within a certain time period). For example:: if the zone is active 8.00-9.00, you will receive an alert when the child is in the zone and leaves it between 8.00 and 9.00. However, you will not receive an alert when your child leaves the zone at 9.01.
  • Entering the zone: You will receive an alert when the device appears in the zone(on a specified day, within a specified time interval). For example: if the zone is active 8.00-9.00, you will not receive an alert when your child enters the zone at 7.59. You will receive an alert only when your child enters the zone between 8 am and 9 am.
  • No entry to the zone: You will receive an alert when the device does not appear in the zone (on the specified day, at the time at which the time interval of the zone begins). For example: if the zone is active 8.00 am – 9.00 am , you will receive an alert at 8.00 am (or with a slight delay) only if the child is not at 8.00 am in the zone.

The most frequently set zones in our application are HOUSE and SCHOOL.
